What a rough day at work I had today. I stood around doing nothing, and actually had the bosses blessing to do so. Ok, not doing nothing exactly, I did get to stand and watch the glass guys use a lift and replace some windows. Shall I explain...ok I will. The boss was going to be gone today and the last thing he told me yesterday was if it's the only thing I do today I was to stick with these glass guys while they were using the lift. I was to be sure they had all the safety barricades in place and that they didn't do anything, as he put it, stupid. Seems my boss caught wind of something that they had done on another job that was considered, well, rather unsafe. So yeah, I was to keep an eye on them and that I did. Thank goodness it was good weather for just standing around. And as good as this assignment may seem, do you have any idea how boring just standing around watching someone else work for eight hours out of a ten hour day?!?!?! Just two more windows in the morning and I'll be back to my regular duties.

Time to go House is coming on.
That's it for now. Later.

Well, what do you know, it looks like things are finally coming to life around here.

I'm not sure what kind of tree this is but.....

it's a shame they hide it in a corner behind the hospital entrance.
That's it for now. Later.

Woke up this morning, and I'll be damned the sun does still exist. Yep, the sun was shining brightly surrounded with blue skies, something we haven't seen in over a week. Although other then that this Easter weekend was rather uneventful. I did take advantage of this nice weather to take a relaxing drive through the countryside. But not to long of drive, can't afford the gas to just drive to be driving nowadays. After I returned I went over to my brothers house for Easter dinner. Not very exciting, but then sometimes that's not a bad thing. Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.
That's it for now.

Woke up this morning feeling a little better but not 100% cured. Well so much for the chicken noodle soup hype. But then again it was out of a can, maybe that's where I went wrong, it wasn't homemade. If that's the case I'm SOL, (that's s**t out of luck, but then you knew that didn't you) because I don't do homemade chicken noodle soup. Guess I'll just tuff it out, this cold can't last forever. Can it???

While visiting another blog I followed a link in the comments and found these. Sometimes no words are needed.

That's it for now. Later.

Here I am again to post but you probably knew that twenty minutes ago because I figure you smelled me coming. And no, not from lack of showering, no wait I mean bathing, this apartment has no shower. Instead what you couldn't help smelling is all this Vicks Vapo Rub I've got plastered on my chest. Ohhh yeah, thanks to this warm one day and cold the next rollercoaster weather we've been having, the cold I thought I shook over a week ago has come back. Only this time it planted itself in my chest. But not to worry, besides the Vicks, I just ate some chicken noodle soup so I should be cured by morning.
That's it for now. Later.

This past weekend I was looking out my window and some motion caught my eye. Looking closer I discovered that some bird of prey (looked like maybe a hawk) had swooped down and latched onto some wild critter or maybe it was another bird, I really couldn't tell. Anyhow my first reaction was that of sadness and shock. But then after thinking about for a while I realized that hey even birds of prey have got to eat. And this is the way that nature has provided for them to get their food. I don't know about you but I sure as hell haven't happened upon to many hawk grocery stores. Yeah like I'll take two pounds of rat and maybe a snake or two.

Spring is getting closer and I'm keeping my eyes to the sky to determine when the warm weather will arrive and stick around. What I am looking for is the return of the buzzards circling overhead. An old time farmer once told me this and I said how in the hell does the return of buzzards signify warmer weather. When he explained it it made sense. He told me as we all know buzzards are scavengers and search out animals that are already dead (the lazy bastards) to swoop down and eat. They do this mainly through smell and well they damn sure can't smell something that is frozen. Hence the return of the buzzards does indeed signal warmer weather. So I'll keep my eye to the sky and hopefully spot them soon.

I'd like to stay and keep telling more farmers tales but I'm fresh out. Besides it's time to figure out what I want to do with my weekend, besides the usual apartment cleaning and laundry that is.
That's it for now, have a grand weekend. Later.

Showed up for work this morning and as soon as I walked in the front door of the hospital I was confronted by two men in uniform who wanted to see my workers ID badge. I thought that kind of strange as they had never done that before. I blew it off and went on up to work. It's when I went outside for my smoke break that it got even stranger. There were soldiers stationed at all the entrances to the hospital, soldiers walking around the hospital carrying M-16's and the roads leading right up to the hospital were barricaded. It was then I found out we were under attack by terrorists. Ok, not really, we were supposedly under attack from terrorists. Turns out they were holding an anti-terrorist training exercise, practicing what they would do if we ever came under attack. They were not letting anybody without proper ID or valid reason for being at the hospital to enter the hospital. I'm sure glad I didn't run off and leave my ID badge sitting at the house today like I did yesterday. So, how's that for an exciting day??
That's it for now. Later.

P.S. More pic's coming soon.

It's been hard to concentrate on work or anything else for that matter the last couple of days. It's hard enough when you have a relative or a friend in the hospital, but it's even worse when the hospital they are in is a long distance away from you. It just makes it so hard to get any decent answers. But things are starting to lookup.

Ok so here's what's up. On Sunday my mom's blood pressure sky-rocketed and she was having trouble breathing. After a trip to the ER they found fluid on her lungs and admitted her. With the aid of some kind of medication they were able to reduce the fluid on her lungs and all the cardiac test came back looking pretty good. It looks as though they will discharge her from the hospital tomorrow. Now all that's left is to figure out what caused this whole episode in the first place.

So now ya know what's been occupying my mind for the last couple of days. Now it's time to nuke me some supper before it gets any later.
That's it for now. Later.

This was one of those up and down weekends. Luckily they got the car done Friday afternoon so I didn't have to take a taxi to work today. However, found out last night that my mom was admitted to the hospital in Phoenix. Sorry about such a short post, I'm spending most of my time on the phone trying to get answers.
That's it for now. Later.

A few things I'd like to do in my lifetime.

Enjoy such a sunset while lounging on a beach in the Bahamas.

Play a round of golf at Augusta National golf course, home of the Masters.

Stroll down a path through the Black Forest while touring Europe.

Ok so maybe I'm dreaming. But nothing wrong with that is there.

Now it's time to come back to reality and get ready for the new week that awaits us.
That's it for now. Later.

One of the good things about working four ten hour days and having Friday off is if you don't feel like doing anything you don't have to. And that's just what I did this morning. Lounged around and didn't do a damned thing until noon. Besides with the car in the shop I wasn't in to big a hurry to leave the apartment.

Oh yeah, and it helps if you're single.

Speaking of my car I got good news today. No no they still found things wrong and it needs to be fixed. The good news was it's going to cost $1242 to fix. Since you're all to nice to say it I will. What am I effin crazy??? How in the hell could a $1242 car repair bill be good news?? Well it is when the original estimate was $2500 to fix. Now I'm sitting here hoping they get it done today so I don't have to take a taxi to work on Monday.

I saw this in the store, and well, I just couldn't resist. Now go out and have a fantastic weekend, I know I'm going to.
Later.

Something Else To Ponder

Could our future....

end up shoving us into the past?!?!

I recently saw a news report about a company that established a policy of firing any employees caught smoking. And not just smoking at work, if they were caught smoking anywhere, anytime they would be fired. Now I'm all in favor of an employer setting rules for the work place. However when they start trying to control what I do away from the work place with the threat of being fired, that's going to far. I believe that nobody, employer or government, has the right to tell me what I can do on my own time as long as what I am doing is within the frame of the law. Oh, and as far as I know this company is getting away with enforcing this policy. All of which leads me to the question of if they can get away with this.... What's next?!?!?! Just a little food for thought.
That's it for now. Later.

Why is it the few days before what is usually considered one of the worst days of the week go by so fast? Oh well, soon another Monday will be upon us and all we can do is our best to make it the best day we possibly can.

With the exception of a wind strong enough to blow one into the next county today, weather-wise this weekend was an excellent one. The kind that make me wish Spring would hurry up and get here. Because around here, this time of year, one weekend of good weather does not mean that Spring is actually here. By this time next week we could be back to the freezing temp's and dodging snow and ice. I've seen it happen before.

I made an appointment for next Friday to have my car worked on. It should probably be done sooner but hey I'm not about to walk to work this week. I did learn while talking to the mechanic on the phone that this fix could cost up to $2500. So now it's like how in the hell am I going to pay for this one. I don't know, maybe I should just cut off an arm and leg and take them in with me when I drop the car off. Ok ok I'm kidding, about the arm and leg that is. I do have a couple of other plans for paying for this. Although this is not what I needed while I am trying to start over. But then again we have take the bad with the good.
That's it for now. Everybody go out and have a good week. Later.

Yep it was laundry day again.

It's Friday the weather is fantastic out and there's nothing gonna get me down. Not even the fact my paycheck didn't show up in the mail today like it's supposed to. Or the fact my car has turned itself into a one-quarter low rider because the air ride suspension is going bad and it's about $1000 to fix. Still I rise above it all and maintain a positive attitude. Have a grand weekend everyone!!!
Later.

I think I'm on the down hill slide with this cold now. Feeling 100% better today which is more than I can say for yesterday. Yesterday the cold was kicking my ass for sure, hence the lack of an update yesterday. Or much of anything else for that matter. I decided to stretch out on the love seat for a few minutes at seven thirty last night and the next thing I knew it was after midnight so I drug my ass to bed. All that extra sleep must have worked cause I felt better today.

My not so new new furnishings. What do ya think of the speaker stands I made for my surround sound system?
Ok that's it for now. Later.
